How to Play in Delaware
The main rules of playing Lotto America are the same in Delaware as they are in all other participating states, but there are a few key points that are specific to the state:
- The cut-off time for tickets is 9:45 p.m. ET, ahead of the drawing at 10:15 p.m.
- You can play up to 10 draws in advance
- You must be at least 18 years of age to take part
Claiming Prizes in Delaware
The first thing to do when you discover that you’ve won a prize in Delaware is sign the back of the winning ticket. That way, no one else will be able to claim the prize in the event that your ticket is lost or stolen. How you claim depends on how much money you have won.
Prizes worth up to and including $599 – Prizes of this amount can be claimed from any lottery retailer in Delaware, or you can mail your ticket to the Delaware Lottery office. Remember to state your name and address on the back of your ticket if you are claiming by mail. A check will be sent to you within 15 days.
Prizes worth between $600 and $5,000 – Visit one of the three claim centers in the state to claim your prize. You must present a valid government-issued photo identification, such as your driver’s license, as well as your Social Security Number. Prizes worth $5,001 or over – Winnings of this amount must be claimed from the Delaware Lottery Office in Dover. Office hours are between 8 a.m. ET and 4 p.m. ET from Monday to Friday.
