Claiming Prizes in Kansas

It’s easy to claim prizes in Kansas, but the exact process does differ depending on how much you win:

Prizes up to and including $599 – You can claim these prizes from any licensed retailer in Kansas or the Kansas Lottery headquarters. You need to fill out a claim form for prizes worth $50 or more when you claim in-person or by mail.

The address for the Kansas Lottery Headquarters is:

128 N Kansas Avenue
Topeka
KS 66603

The telephone number is (785) 296-5700, and the office is open between 8 a.m. CT and 5 p.m. CT from Monday to Friday.

Prizes between $600 and $5,000 – These prizes must be claimed from the Kansas Lottery headquarters with a completed claim form. You can also mail your signed ticket with your claim form to the Kansas Lottery headquarters. Payments for prizes of this amount will be made in the same day in the form of a check.

Prizes worth $5,001 or over – You can claim your prize by taking, or mailing, your signed ticket and completed claim form to Kansas Lottery’s headquarters in Topeka. Your check will then be mailed to you or deposited into your bank account. Both of these payment methods take 7-10 days to clear. You can also collect your check when the payment has been processed. To deposit your prize into your bank account, you should contact the Kansas Lottery Finance Department on 785-296-5734, and you will be sent a direct deposit form.

In Kansas, only one person can claim a prize so, if you have won as part of a lottery pool, only one member of the group can claim the winnings. The rest of the party must complete a Multi-Winners form for tax reasons. You can collect a claim and Multi-Winners form from a licensed retailer or the Kansas Lottery office.

You should also note the following points when it comes to claiming prizes in Kansas:
